Description
Reason for the temporary help request/justification:
- Temporary help services are required for a short period due to a temporary workload increase arising from the Intranet Revitalization project
- The resource is needed to support the Intranet Revitalization project, including the following primary tasks:
- Review and Edit Intranet Content:
- Review the existing AAFC Intranet to determine core content that should be maintained. Write new content for sections identified for rework by the project authority.
- Interview Subject Matter Experts:
- Gather information directly from subject matter experts through either in-person interviews, telephone interviews, or email as appropriate.
- Provide Content Editing Guidelines:
- Provide written guidelines for Intranet content riting and editing to help future authors maintain style and quality consistency..
Duties
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing web editing services (web content review) and making web content enhancements to key top-level pages targeted for migration into the new Intranet Web site
- Developing Web content plans
- Coordinate the migration of content from the old Intranet site to the new one
- Interview subject matter experts throughout the organization
- Work closely with the Communications and Consultations Branch to provide deliverables within established timeframes and propose future activities. The required deliverables are:
- Work plan for content editing established
- Prepare Report on needs collected from Subject Matter Experts
- Delivery of edited content sections
- Delivery of content editing guidelines
- Providing input and reviewing web site related documentation, such as AAFC's Web Style Guide.
- Contributing to the development of the revised information architecture
- Interact with employees through e-mail, telephone and in-person meetings
- Time permitting, assist other E-Communications staff with other Web-related projects
Qualifications
Requirements/Skills Needed:
- Secondary school diploma is required. Certificate, diploma, or degree from a recognized post secondary institution, in a relevant field, is required
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience is required
- Has good communication skills
- Has good organizational skills
- Has a good understanding of the Web and of managing Intranet Web sites
- Ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of Government of Canada Common Look and Feed Standards would be considered an asset
- Previous experience with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada or Government of Canada experience would be considered an asset
- A bilingual candidate would be considered an asset
