Our government client is seeking a Risk management specialist.

Duties

• Provide recommendations or options for managing risks posed through toxicological, flammable and chemical hazards as well as mechanical/electrical hazards in support of regulations
• Design a verification system for mandatory reporting under the CCPSA
• Provide recommendations or process for triage officers on level and appropriateness of incident reports requiring further action from risk assessment and risk management groups.
• Contribute to development and implementation of training programs and approaches related to triage and prioritization activities
• Provide advice and guidance on triage and prioritization activities, health risk assessment findings, design integrity of approaches and strategies pertaining to triaging, prioritizing and early risk assessments, and preparation of documents/presentations to management committees

Qualifications

• Environmental health management, policy analysis and development
• Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000, 14000)
• Toxic chemicals management  and eco-labelling
• Risk assessment/management
• Life cycle and project management as well as process mapping
• Working with international agencies on international health issues
