Full-time basis means 7.5 hours per day and 5 days per week (Monday to Friday).
Hours of work can be performed between either 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The following tasks will be under perform under each activity fields.
Responsible for the appraisal/selection, AND/OR arrangement, AND/OR description of archival fonds and related materials.
Following LAC procedures, criteria, templates and policy related to the above tasks, as required.
Production of various reports (according to templates and instructions) to support recommendations related to the above.
The results of these various reports support acquisition recommendations to be made to LAC Senior Management.
The following tasks are specific for each activity fields
For the TRC (refer to paragraph 1.1.), the analysis will be primarily related to government institutions and materials.
For the Exchequer (refer to paragraph 1.2), the analysis will be primarily related to the specific analysis of information resources to be acquired in this collection.
For DRKP (refer to paragraph 1.3) this analysis will be primarily related to government institutions and materials.
For Clearing the pipeline backlog (refer to paragraph 1.4) re-investment project this analysis will be primarily related to private archival donations
Master degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in information science and/or social science or humanities and/or public administration and/or some other specialty relevant to the position.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a specialty relevant to the position. (The 3 years can include time spent in post-secondary education in the relevant area and/or professional experience.
Experience in the appraisal, acquisition, arrangement, description and specialized reference of archival fonds.
Experience undertaking a variety of research projects using archival/historical sources.
Experience in the writing of substantial reports, a thesis and/or publication.
Knowledge of Canadian History and general trends of the evolution of Canadian society.
Experience in working in Information management in the Government of Canada.
Experience working on the transfer of digital records and metadata.
